United States Capitol Building.Government policy is predominately impacted by lobbyists and special interest groups. However, if there is an issue that generates strong public interest it cannot be ignored. Contact your representatives if you have an opinion about legislation, know legislation is being misrepresented or simply don’t understand it. While it may often be in vain, concern by the public weather Democrat, Republican or independent prevented the passage of ill conceived immigration legislation.

Many government agencies are great sources of information. Often, facts about issues being inaccurately spun by your representatives or the administration are readily available on a government site; take advantage of them!
